So from the heart.

My name is Allie and I love to sew, knit and do all kinds of crafting. I am an artist of sorts. yes i paint sometimes but mostly I use fabrics and materials to express my creativity.

I enjoy all kinds of sewing projects from up cycling to patterns, knitting to other kinds of stuff. the thing is I am not a technical sewer nor a technical artist. My crafting comes from the overflow of my heart. I am notoriously bad with sticking to rules or patterns. There are times when you have to stick with the pattern and then there are times when you just have to go from the heart. 

There are two types of people who craft usually, those who like to get everything technically perfect and follow things to the letter and those of us who like to make it up as we go along. Neither is wrong and as long as you enjoy the process sewing can be super rewarding. I am a tinkerer and I love to bend the rules - make stuff my own. 

When it comes to making clothes and upcyling them - part of the appeal is that I want something unique and something that expresses who I am as a person. I am hoping that in this blog I can share with you some of that joy in the creative process and show you that sewing and knitting from your heart can be easy and straight forward as following a pattern, that you can step out of the box and do some things interestingly.
